Kerala Fish Curry


Ingredients

1) Fish pieces-10nos

2) Small Onion- 1 cup

3) Garlic-1/2 cup

4) Ginger-1/4cup

5)Curry Leaves-1/4 cup

6) Mustard seeds-1tsp

7) Ulluva podi-1tsp

8) Turmeric powder-1tsp

9) chilli powder-2 1/2 tbsp

10) Tamarind -3 pieces

8) salt to taste

Preparation

Before preparation soak tamarind pieces with 1 glass of water in a small bowl and keep it aside.

1) Pour 2tbsp of oil in a vessel.
2) Add the mustard seeds to it and then add the curry leaves.
3) Add ingredients 2-4 and saute well
4) Add ingredients 7-9 and saute well
5) After sauting pour 1 glass of water and allow to boil
6) Then add the soaked tamarind with the water
7)Then add sufficient amount of water
8) Add the fish pieces (Water should be such that you can see the pieces submerged well).
9)Then close the lid and allow it cook.
10) After 5 mins lower the flame and cook for another 5 mins.
11)The fish curry is ready to serve.
